Welcome
all!
The purpose of
this site is to help students, researchers, and those in the broader
environmental and international development community locate an
array of resources on international environmental and development
issues.
This
site is also intended to provide undergraduate students with further
information on the International Environment
and Development (IED) semester course based in Washington,
DC and sponsored by American University's Washington Semester
Program. This course engages students directly in the real
world of international policy work in Washington, DC as well as
on-the-ground field experience in rural villages in Amazonia,
Africa, and elsewhere.
Our classroom
venues range from the executive offices of global institutions
to dirt floors in remote villages. For students interested
in an up-close and real-world academic experience, including internships,
research projects, international travel (including South Africa,
Brazil, and Sri Lanka), and more, please read
on.
Your comments,
questions, and suggestions are welcome.
